This is the second earliest calendar date in franchise history that the Twins have reached 25 game below .500. Only in 1982, when they lost a team record 102 games, did the Twins reach the 25-under mark more quickly.

The Twins have hit the 25-below mark 11 times in franchise history, including four of the last six seasons.

In seven seasons the Twins have fallen 25 games under .500, it took them until at least Game 129 to do so. The 2016 have managed to do it in only 63 games.

The 1995 Twins fell 25 below .500 in two fewer games than the current team, but the start of that season was delayed several weeks by a players' strike.
