The Gophers women's hockey team no longer has its record winning streak intact. But it still has two other streaks going. It has won 40 consecutive games on the road and 26 games in a row against Ohio State.
Those streaks will intersect when the Gophers (17-1, 11-1 WCHA) play the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio, at 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. All-time, Minnesota is 55-8-1 against OSU.

Eight top awards
Eight athletes on Minnesota community college teams were named to NJCAA first All-America teams in three sports
Freshman Cody Nelson, a freshman midfielder at Century, and Molly Larson, a sophomore midfielder at Anoka-Ramsey, made the All-America men's and women's soccer teams.
In volleyball, four middle blockers — sophomores Lindsay Monson of Central Lakes, Gabriella Feldt of Itasca and Taylor Aakre of Rochester and freshman Tori Davidson of Northland — and two sophomore setters — Tiffani Karbo of Ridgewater and Lindsay Ayers of Rochester — were honored.

• The Southwest Minnesota State football team will play Pittsburg State in the Mineral Water Bowl in Excelsior Springs, Mo., on Saturday. The Mustangs (7-4) are making just their third postseason appearance in the program's 46-year history. They lost in the first round of the NAIA playoffs in 1987 and 1990. • The Rochester Community and Technical College football team will face Iowa Central in the Graphics Edge Bowl at 11 a.m. Sunday in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The MCAC champion Yellowjackets are 10-1. Iowa Central is 5-5.
• The No. 5-ranked St. Cloud State wrestling team beat St. John's 38-0 on Thursday at home in its season opener to set an NCAA Division II record for most consecutive dual-match victories with 48.
