Gophers wrestling recruit Logan Storley of Webster, S.D., has been selected as the winner of the Junior Dan Hodge Trophy, presented annually to the top high school wrestler in the nation by the AAU and WIN Magazine.

Storley, the nation's No. 1-rated wrestler at 171 pounds, was 42-1 as a senior and won his sixth South Dakota state title. His career record was 262-3 at Webster High School.

He is only the third high school wrestler in the nation to win six state titles.

• Defenseman Blake Thompson of Waterloo of the United States Hockey League has committed to the Gophers for next season. The 6-3, 220-pound Thompson has played the past three seasons in the USHL after playing for Eden Prairie High School as a sophomore. He had five goals and 18 assists for 23 points this past season; he also had 117 penalty minutes, third-most on his team.

• Five Lynx players are expected to participate in the United States women's national team's training camp May 10-12 in Las Vegas: guards Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen and Candice Wiggins and forward Rebekkah Brunson. In all, 24 players have been invited. The only other WNBA team with more than two players at the camp will be Connecticut, with four.
