The driver of a Lexus sedan crashed into Yum! Kitchen and Bakery in St. Louis Park on Wednesday afternoon, injuring two and causing major damage to the restaurant.
Jacqueline Larson, communications manager with the city, said two people were taken to a hospital for observation.
The restaurant at 4000 Minnetonka Blvd. was closed after the crash, which left the four-door car completely inside the restaurant surrounded by broken glass, twisted metal and overturned furniture.
The car was extricated from the restaurant around 4 p.m.
An employee who answered the phone Wednesday afternoon declined to comment, but said they planned to reopen for business as usual at 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
However, workers addressed the crash on the company Facebook page: "Prayers and gratitude; and more prayers and gratitude to all who are hurt or who helped others today at yum!. We are here for you."
No information was available on the driver or what might have caused the crash. The incident report will likely take a day or two to complete, Larson said.
