Two dead, one hurt in car after Wisconsin crash with bus carrying Spooner High volleyball team

Two people died Saturday afternoon in a collision between a car and a school bus near Cumberland, Wis.

Identities of the two people who died and a third person who was critically injured and airlifted to Regions Hospital were not disclosed in the initial news release sent Saturday evening by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Those three people were all in the car, which was struck by a school bus carryinging the Spooner High School volleyball team, according to the news release.

Students, coaches and the bus driver were taken to Cumberland Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and they were released.

Initial reports indicate the car, which was traveling westbound on Hwy. B, failed to obey a stop sign and was hit by the school bus, which was headed northbound on U.S. 63. The bus hit the driver's side of the car. Emergency officials were notified of the crash at 2:35 p.m.
