It's chilly, but sunny, here on the South Side. So we'll have a ballgame today!

The White Sox felt that playing last night, with temps dipping into the 20s with strong winds, wasn't fair to players as well as fans. So the game was postponed. That sets up a likely day-night doubleheader down the road. The Twins return Aug. 9-11 and Sept. 16-18. The teams are scheduled off on Aug. 8, but the Twins already have a make up game with the Mets on the 19th and would then play on 27 straight days (20 is the max, per the CBA) if Friday's game was moved to the 8th.

This is why the Twins did all they could to try to play Wednesday against the Angels, because once you start pushing games back, August and September can become a big headache from a scheduling standpoint.

Chicago has placed Dayan Viciedo on the 15-day DL with an oblique strain. Outfielder Blake Tekotte has been called up from Class AAA Charlotte.

Will check back in later with lineups

UPDATES

Cole De Vries (forearm) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session in the Twin Cites today. If that goes well he will head out on a rehabilitation assignment.

Oswaldo Arcia, called back up on Tuesday when Darin Mastroianni landed on the DL, is in the lineup as the designated hitter. Mastroianni, out due to a stress reaction in his left ankle, is wearing a walking cast.

Pitching coach Rick Anderson has returned to the club after dealing with a family matter earlier in the week. He said the starters have done a good job of staying sharp through the postponements.
