ABOUT THE TWINS

The Twins are 4-11 against the White Sox this year. Since Major League Baseball went to an unbalanced schedule in 2001 -- allowing the Twins to play 18 or 19 games each year against division foes -- their worst record against the White Sox came in 2005, when they went 7-11 against the eventual World Series champs. From 2006-2011, the Twins went 54-38 against the White Sox, including 9-9 last year.

ABOUT THE WHITE SOX

Francisco Liriano has walked 15 batters in his past three starts, so the White Sox tried him out of the bullpen Tuesday night. It didn't go well. Liriano faced three batters and didn't get an out, hitting one batter and allowing two hits. The White Sox had planned to have Liriano face the Twins on Friday, but with Thursday's rainout, they'll skip Liriano and go with Chris Sale.
