Twins to show off new alternate red home jerseys at TwinsFest

January 29, 2016 at 3:15AM

The Twins on Thursday unveiled new red alternate home jerseys — just in time for TwinsFest, which begins Friday at Target Field.

They will be available for purchase at the clubhouse store during the three-day event.

The new uniform tops feature a red cap and red jersey top, both with simple "TC" logos on them. In 2010, the Twins introduced alternate home jerseys with pinstripes, blue caps and blue lettering — meaning the new red tops and caps are quite a bit different.

After the Twins tweeted an image of the new tops (modeled by Joe Mauer), public reaction was predictably mixed — with tweets ranging from "ooooooh, that's good!" to "These are awful."

You'll have plenty of time to form a full opinion. The Twins are slated to wear the new jerseys for every Friday home game in 2016, a total of 13 games.
