Happy Monday everyone! It's nice to see that it's getting warmer in the Twin Cities. Glen Perkins said this morning that he's going to pitch on Wednesday against the Rays at Hammond Stadium. It will be his first outing in a week after experiencing discomfort in his right side on Friday. The Twins took it easy with him for a couple of days and are comfortable sending him back out. Josmil Pinto had a smile on his face as he walked in from the batting cages. Pinto, who hasn't played a game yet because of a strained right quad, caught in the bullpen yesterday, expects to catch more today and could be close to entering the lineup. ``Hopefully (Tuesday) or Wednesday," he said. Twins manager Paul Molitor expressed a willingness to use Pinto as a DH a little once he's ready to play in games, then ease him in behind the plate. Pinto is trying to win a job as the backup catcher. Torii Hunter was bummed out to learn that his guy, Denard Span, is out indefinitely following right core muscle surgery. The Nationals have been picked to win it all, Span is coming off of a .302 season and his first time cracking 30 steals. Span is a free agent after the season, as the Nats have Michael Taylor close to stepping into center field. Span was ready to have a big walk year but now will miss an undetermined amount of time. ``I'm gonna have to give him a call," Hunter said,.
