The Twins had a short workout today then took off for the afternoon. After some mistakes on Thursday, things went more smoothly on Friday. We'll see how it all turns out on Saturday when Kevin Correia hooks up with Orioles lefty Zach Britton in the spring training opener.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire was asked if his team got all the signs down pat, something they worked on Friday.

``We sure hope so," he said, ``We'll wait and see once the games start. We have gone over enough with them. They have gotten their final tuneup and tomorrow we will see what happens. Hopefully they will all remember it out there. Take our time with it and slow down and make sure they get them. There shouldn't be too many signs put on in spring training. They should be out there hitting the ball and getting as many at-bats as they can."

On his expectations for Correia: ``Just go out and get his work in. He's been there and done that. Not overthrow the ball. Pitch to contact and get a couple of innings in. Get his work done, get his pitches in and work on the process of arm strength."

Warning about Correia: He has a career spring training ERA of 5,75.

Ryan Pressly, Luis Perdomo, Tyler Robertson,Josh Roenicke and Tim Wood are on the list to pitch as well.

The catchers: Doumit, Butera, Hermmann, Pinto

Infielders: Florimon, Dozier, Beresford, Colabello, Clement, Escobar, Rosario, Santana, Sobolewski.

Outfielders: Willingham, Parmelee, Dinkelman, Mastroianni, Boggs, Thomas.

See you then!

Etc.

Caleb Thielbar survived his batting practice session against Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham and Justin Morneau. ``I kept the ball down, I thought it might have been a little too down," Thielbar said. ``I wasn't really throwing my offspeed for strikes, but it was just my third time out facing hitters."

That's for all the Randolph, Mn folks and the Jackrabbit Nation who have been on me for Thielbar updates.

Deibinson Romero's US arrival remains on hold, but he's scheduled to have a meeting in Santo Domingo late next week and could get his visa then, He's been working out at the Twins' Dominican headquarters while waiting his turn. Heard he's about to start playing games there, so he won't be totally out of shape when he reports.
