Joe Mauer was expected to play today but everyone decided there's no hurry in getting him back in the lineup after taking a foul tip off his right shoulder on Thursday.
That means he probably won't play until Tuesday against Baltimore since there's no way he's making the bus trip across the state to Jupiter to face the Marlins.
Justin Morneau was in the original lineup but was pulled for Brock Peterson. Spoke with Morneau earlier in the morning and everything seemed fine. He actually was headed to cage to take some swings. We're waiting to learn why he's out.
The Twins cut several of minor leaguers today.
Optioned: RHP Deolis Guerra, RHP Loek Van Mil, SS Estarlin Des Los Santos
Reassigned to minor league camp: Catchers Jair Fernandez and Danny Rams. LHP Jose Lugo, 2B Steve Singleton and OF Rene Tosoni.
The Twins now have 48 players left in camp.
Update: Morneau has some sort of soreness. Still trying to confirm where the soreness is. No reason to panic until we learn what it is.
