The Twins lost to the Yankees 6-4 on Friday. Here are three quick thoughts.

1. Frankie looking good: He looked dominant at times on Friday. Loved the at-bat where he went changeup-slider-slider to A-Rod and struck him out swinging. Liriano has walked three and struck out 23 this spring. That decision to pitch winter ball is looking pretty good right now, as Liriano looks and sounds confident.

2. Dozier at short. I think he's solid there, but there was a play in the second inning that he could have handled differently. He waited on a grounder then flipped to Pedro Florimon to start a double play. Florimon could have been killed at second, so I thought that Dozier had time to attack the ball and get the play started sooner. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Dozier just needed to be firmer with his feed to second, and that would have moved things along. The DP was turned, but it's plays like that that can get a second baseman clobbered.

3. Morneau: There will be more in tomorrow's dead-tree editions, but I sense that the Twins are going to DH him a lot next season. They just aren't ready to say it.. Morneau has been the DH in seven straight games, and you don't do that just to get other people time in the field. I think its a wise move in what will be a year for Morneau to get back on track. Morneau, by the way, has looked better at the plate lately, as he drove a double over Curtis Granderson's head.

UPDATE: The Twins aren't sure if Jason Marquis will be able to make his start on Saturday. He left camp Thursday to take care of a family matter. Right now, their starter is TBA.
