SANTANA OUT: Utility player Danny Santana was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday after straining his right hamstring while chasing down a fly ball. Santana was injured the sixth inning as he pursued a drive by Salvador Perez that got past him for a double. Santana said he felt the hamstring tighten on him near the end of the play. ``I'm really sore right now," Santana said after game. ``I don't know how big it is. I don't know how long (I'll be out)." Too bad for Santana. He's only 2-for-12 but looked more dangerous at the plate than a lot of his teammates. His speed and bunting ability puts pressure on defenses. It's a loss for the Twins as they try to find their offense.

KEPLER UP: The Twins called up outfielder Max Kepler, ranked second on most lists of top prospects in the organization. The left-handed hitting Kepler was 1-for-6 in two games for Class AAA Rochester. Kepler can play all three outfield positions but is better off in the corners. The Twins have high hopes for Kepler, and this is his chance to show them what he can do.

O-5: Most of this mess is on the offense. They have lost four games by a total of six runs. Yes, Kevin Jepsen has to be a fault for the two games he gave up runs in. But the Twins are .079 with runners in scoring position. That's awful. Everyone knows they are going to strike out a lot, but the quality of at-bats needs to improve. counts need to be pushed. Strikes need to be crushed. Offense wasn't supposed to be an issue with this team. Eduardo Escobar and Joe Mauer are the best things going right now. I'll throw Byung Ho Park in there, since he's hit a homer and has two walks. The rest of the offense hasn't showed up, and the losing is going to continue until it does.
