The Twins have looked bad in two games here against the Blue Jays. At 66-95, they have lost at least 95 games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since moving from Washington.
They have clinched the worst record in the American League
And they have locked up the fourth overall pick in the 2013 draft.
Ben Revere led the Twins with three hits but was picked off first twice.
Trevor Plouffe committed a throwing error then overslid second base while trying to stretch a single into a double. He was called safe as he dived back for the bag. That was a gift, as replays showed he was tagged out.
Tyler Robertson, in the eighth, got another shot at Adam Lind. After falling behind 3-0, Lind grounded to the left of Twins second baseman Alexi Casilla. Casilla got the ball and threw to first, where Robertson covered. But Robertson dropped the ball for an error.
The other problem, manager Ron Gardenhire said, was that Chris Parmelee came off the bag and dived for the ball when he should have let it go He should have been there to take the throw. But Robertson, once he got to the bag, has to catch the ball.
There's been two days of this up here in Toronto. Oh, sorry. I forgot I live in Minnesota.
