As expected, the mood in the clubhouse is a lot better today than on Tuesday, when Torii Hunter called a players-only meeting in the wake of a 1-6 road trip.

In most cases, however, the mood of the clubhouse has a lot to do with the starting pitcher. Kyle Gibson kept the Twins in last night's game until the offense put together enough good at bats to score there runs.

The Twins saw how bad things can get with the rotation has one bad turn. Now that Gibson has stop the slide, can Mike Pelfrey help build momentum?

Pelfrey gave up seven runs in his last outing - although the Twins did win the game - and wasn't happy about it afterward. He's back at Target Field tonight, where he is 3-2 with a 2.05 ERA.

The Twins still don't have a starter for Saturday, but are making progress in identifying someone, manager Paul Molitor said. Top prospect Jose Berrios is on track to pitch on Friday, so he would have to be pushed back a day if the Twins want to call him up.

Doesn't seem too unreasonable, does it?

Tommy Milone, recovering from a sore elbow, is going to throw in the bullpen tomorrow and could be activated over the weekend. But Molitor said they likely will slot Milone in after that.

``If everything goes well tomorrow, he might be pitching Sunday or Monday," Molitor said.

Gibson, meanwhile has offered to pitch on short rest, but Molitor doesn't want to do that to him.

``I'm going to keep working on him," Gibson said.

So the guy who starts on Saturday might not be in the Twins clubhouse yet.

``Possibly," Molitor said.

Stay tuned.
