Alexi Casilla tested his surgically-repaired elbow before Wednesday's game, so we'll find out tomorrow how the elbow responds.

He hasn't lost his sense of humor. ``They took out one very big chip,'' he said. When asked where it was (some guys have brought them back from surgery), Casilla said. ``They had to send it to the museum.'' He then grabbed his glove and headed to the field.

J.J. Hardy said his left wrist remains sore, but added that he would be available tonight in an emergency. Tomorrow appears to be a big day, as he'll see how the wrist responds to a cortisone shot. He's clearly frustrated by the ordeal because he thought he was over the hump with the injury before having problems over the weekend.

Justin Morneau had the hitting tee out on home plate for early batting practice. It's a cool drill, as the hitter focuses on the bottom half of the baseball, which creates backspin and carry. The Twins took 15 more pitchers among the 20 picks they had during the third, and final, day of the draft. They selected righthander Tommy Toledo in the 32nd round. Toledo was a third round pick in 2007 but didn't sign and had reconstructive shoulder surgery in 2009. Still, the Twins will have to go over slot to sign him.

Deolis Guerra has been sent down from Class AAA Rochester to Class AA New Britain.

New Britain outfielder Ben Revere will be out about a week after getting hit in the eye with a throw.
