The Twins did not make a qualifying offer to free agent pitcher Mike Pelfrey.

A qualifying offer is $14.1 million this offseason. Any team that makes a qualifying offer to their free agent can receive a draft pick as compensation if he signs elsewhere, but run the risk of the player accepting the one-year deal.

Pelfrey, who made $5 million this season, went 5-13 with a 5.19 ERA.

The Twins added lefthander Edgar Ibarra to the 40-man roster on Monday. Ibarra, 24, posted a 1.93 ERA in 47 games between Class AA New Britain and Class AAA Rochester. In 60⅔ innings, he walked 29 and struck out 54. He ended his time at New Britain with 17 scoreless innings and began his time at Rochester with 14⅓ scoreless innings.

The Twins have also signed outfielder Wilkin Ramirez, catcher Dan Rohlfing, lefthander Aaron Thompson, outfielder Jermaine Mitchell, righthander Lester Oliveros, infielder Doug Bernier and second baseman James Beresford to minor league contracts with invites to spring training.

Righthander Virgil Vazquez signed a Class AAA contract but will not be invited to spring training.

Catcher Jairo Rodriguez and outfielder Reynaldo Rodriguez were signed to minor league contracts.
