He’s the fourth different pitcher to start the opener in four years, following Carl Pavano, Vance Worley and Ricky Nolasco. … The Twins went 10-9 against the Tigers last year, the first time since 2009 they posted a winning record against Detroit. … It’s RF Torii Hunter’s return to Detroit, where he played the past two seasons. Hunter batted .295 with 34 homers in two seasons with the Tigers.
