The Twins scored double-digit runs for the third consecutive game Tuesday night, handing the Kansas City Royals their 12th loss in 15 games by a score of 11-2. In fact, our boys helped make history by adding to the Royals' pitching staff's worst three-game stretch in franchise history: 42 runs on 53 hits in just three days time. That's pretty awful.

During the 19-hit affair, the Twins assault began with four runs by the third inning off lefty Bruce Chen, who was chased just into the fifth. Joe Mauer, Michael Cuddyer and J.J. Hardy, who hit his fourth home run of the season, each had a two RBI night, while Jason Repko drove in a run as well.

Rookie third baseman Danny Valencia enjoyed his second four-hit night in as many games, driving in three runs on Tuesday to bring his smoking-hot batting average to .400 over his 29-game big league career. He will no longer be mistaken for the bat boy.

Carl Pavano may not have completed the game, but he won his eighth straight decision after giving up just a run on five hits over five innings, walking three and striking out two.

The 55-46 Twins will try to complete the three-game sweep at 1:10pm this afternoon with Brian Duensing (3-1, 1.79 ERA) making his second start of the year. Brian Bannister, who is 4-4 with a 4.09 ERA in 11 career starts against Minnesota, will take the hill for the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Also, I highly encourage you to check out MLB's Pepsi Refresh Project. Click here to vote for Minnesota Twins Ambassador Michael Cuddyer's wonderful idea to build a ballpark for the Courage Center's Rolling Twins youth softball wheelchair team.
