TWINS UPDATE

The Twins are 24-29 on Opening Day, and have lost five consecutive openers. This is the fourth time in five seasons they have opened on the road, and the third time they have opened in March. … The Twins went 11-8 against the White Sox last season, losing five of their past six meetings, and went 6-3 in Chicago. They have posted a losing record against the White Sox only twice in the past 13 seasons. … The Twins hit 11 home runs in U.S. Cellular Field last season, more than any other road ballpark. Three of outfielder Oswaldo Arcia's 14 home runs last year came here. … The Twins went 9-16-3 during spring training, the first time since 2007 that they had a losing record.

WHITE SOX UPDATE

Chicago went 63-99 last season, its worst record since 1970, and posted the second-worst record in the American League. ...
