Yuck! It's overcast and dreary here. And I'm wearing long pants.

And the last time I was here, I got back spasms so bad I spent the night at Emory University Hospital. I can't remember what year that was - I'm glad I can't remember.

MLB just announced the creation of a 7-day disabled list for players and umpires who suffer concussions or are suspected of one.. A bunch of protocols (baseline test, etc.) to ensure that players aren't on the field when they shouldn't be. And teams can get roster relief while a player is healing.

It's a good idea. Head injuries in sports have become a hot topic and sports leagues need to ensure player safety.

Headed down to see what Gardy and the lads have to say, then will be back with updates.

UPDATE: Twins manager Ron Gardenhire is concerned about weather reports for tomorrow's game. So much that he is going to make sure his veterans get a lot of work tonight. Joe Mauer will catch six maybe seven innings. Nick Blackburn will be pulled earlier so all the key relievers can get some work in.

If Wednesday's game - a FSN game, by the way - the Twins will work out at Rogers Centre on Thursday. As of now, no workout is planned.

Props to MLB for getting something in place to deal with concussions. The concussion committee was just formed late last year. To have a plan like this in place is fast for them.
