Some of the September callups have arrived, with Shairon Martis, Eric Fryer and Scott Diamond expected to arrive before game time.

The Twins are going with a six-man rotation for the rest of the season, with Diamond expected to start on Thursday against the Athletics. The rest of the rotation will be pushed back accordingly. That gives everyone involved a break. And the Twins will watch Mike Pelfrey and Andrew Albers to make sure they don't throw too many innings.

Joe Mauer is definitely getting better. He ran the bases today and is taking batting practice with the rest of the team. And he said his symptoms are going away. He still couldn't pinpoint a date for his return. Usually, when a player moves on to running the bases, he's getting close to returning. It might be different for players coming off concussions, though..

For those of you who follow the minors, Travis Harrison, a third baseman at Class A Cedar Rapids, will start working in the outfield during the upcoming instructional league. Eddie Rosario with continue to bounce between second base and the outfield as he goes to instructional league then onto the Arizona Fall League. With Brian Dozier getting settled in at second base, the Twins are aware that Rosario's path to the majors might be as an outfielder.

Center fielder Aaron Hicks was not among the call-ups, and its clear that the Twins hope he gets the message. He batted .222 at Rochester and battled injuries after being sent down. The Twins said he needed to earn a call-up, and he didn't.
