Twins activate Casey Fien from the disabled list

The righthander had missed 25 games with a shoulder strain. Reliever Michael Tonkin was sent to Rochester to clear a spot for Fien.

The Twins activated reliever Casey Fien from the disabled list before Friday's game, and returned reliever Michael Tonkin to AAA Rochester to reach the 25-man roster limit. Fien, who missed 25 games with a right shoulder strain, made three rehab appearances at Rochester, pitching three scoreless innings.

Fien was 1-2 with a 4.35 ERA in nine games with the Twins before going on the disabled list.

Tonkin had a 5.14 ERA in 11 outings (seven innings) with the Twins.
