Q "Southland" has quickly risen to the top of "must-see TV" for my wife and me (even though, as my wife puts it, she "loves it but hates it," what with all the drama it puts kids -- both born and unborn -- through). The season finale didn't really have any "loose ends" and could be seen as a "series-ender," but I was curious if there is any buzz at all toward what TNT was going to decide on the fate of the show. I know the ratings aren't great, but if canceled, it will join the ranks of those cut too soon.

A At this writing, TNT has not made it official, but I fully expect "Southland" to be back.

Check Monday listings for 'Bones'

Q What is the status of the show "Bones"? It went off the air early this year and hasn't been back. I enjoy the show and all the characters and am wondering when it will return.

A "Bones" returned April 2 to a new Monday-night time slot.

Clearing up 'Housewives'

Q Did the writers make a mistake in the Penny's-birthday-party episode of "Desperate Housewives" when Tom reminded Lynette that she had been in labor 22 hours giving birth to her? I thought Penny was the product of an affair Tom had.

A I wondered about that, too, and it's easy to get confused because of the "Desperate Housewives" time jump between seasons a few years back. You're thinking of Kayla, who was the product of Tom's relationship with Nora. Per one of the show's writers/directors, Penny is Tom and Lynette's daughter.

Don't expect 'Pan Am' to return

Q I have enjoyed the few episodes of "Pan Am," but it hasn't been showing for a while. Will there be any new episodes of this interesting, fun series?

A Mayday! Mayday! "Pan Am" is going down. All of the produced episodes have aired, and the show did not garner high ratings. I expect it will be canceled when ABC announces its fall schedule later this month.

'Ashes to Ashes' hard to find

Q Will BBC America ever run the third and last season of "Ashes to Ashes"? If not, will it be made available online or on DVD?

A There are no plans to air it on BBC America, release it on DVD or via online streaming. But the show is in syndication on some PBS stations across the country. So, a call to your local PBS station to see if it might pick up the show wouldn't hurt.

Prepare for more 'Bar Rescue'

Q Will there be a new season of "Bar Rescue" on Spike?

A Yes. Spike TV announced the show's renewal last year with new episodes slated to air in the summer.
