Q: Will the 1978 miniseries "Centennial" ever be shown again? It was similar to the "Lonesome Dove" series, but longer. It might be the best western series I have ever seen.

A: It's unlikely for a miniseries that old to re-air, but not impossible. Encore has been showing older miniseries with regularity in the past year. But if you really want to see it, get the DVD.

Making sense of 'Breaking Bad'

Q: I don't understand the "Breaking Bad" "season." Is it Season 6 that started on Aug 11, or is it a repeat of Season 5? I've also been told it's an extension of Season 5, which means what?

A: It's a conundrum. What began airing last month are new episodes, the first of the last eight episodes of the series. You can consider it Season 5B or Season 6.

I don't know why AMC insisted on calling both what aired last summer and this summer part of the same season. It might have something to do with contracts or the fact that each mini-season was eight episodes.

'Horror Story' set for return

Q: Will "American Horror Story: Asylum" return this year? Will Jessica Lange still be in it even though her character died in the last part of the season? We are so hooked on that show.

A: The "Asylum" story is done, but "American Horror Story: Coven," which will feature Lange and other cast members from Seasons 1 and 2 playing new characters, will debut Oct. 9 on FX.

No Blu-ray for 'Blue Bloods'

Q: I'm wondering if CBS is ever going to release "Blue Bloods" on Blu-ray. Also, why no "NYPD Blue" after Year 4? Is ABC ever going to release the later years?

A: "Blue Bloods" is owned by Paradox Entertainment and Paramount Home Video, so it would be up to them to release, not CBS. As noted a few weeks ago: If a studio thinks it can make money on a Blu-ray or DVD release, it will move forward with it. If not, then it won't.

"NYPD Blue" is owned by 20th Century Fox, and the same guidance applies.

'Graceland' loses an agent

Q: I'm a fan of "Graceland." In the first two episodes, there was a female agent who lived with the other agents. I don't know the actress' name, but I believe she also had played a doctor and Tony's girlfriend through many episodes of "NCIS" a few years back. Why was she taken off "Graceland"?

A: Scottie Thompson was the actress' name. The show's publicist says there are no plans for her to return since she was "burned" from the house.
