The talk show circuit gets a little more twang with "Pickler & Ben," a Nashville-based weekday show hosted by singer Kellie Pickler and TV personality Ben Aaron. The farmhouse-styled set should make it easy for executive producer Faith Hill to occasionally pop out from behind a bale of hay and share some jokes recycled from "Hee Haw."

Despite our fervent prayers, Sean Spicer is not part of the new season of "Dancing With the Stars," leaving us little to gawk at. Terrell Owens is the biggest fish in the pond this year, although he may be overshadowed — at least for one number — whenever Debbie Gibson decides to revive "Shake Your Love."

Rebel hearts

It may be hard to fathom why anyone would cross over to Syria to join ISIS, but the miniseries "The State" makes a valiant effort to explain with a no-nonsense, fictional account based on extensive research. Writer/director Peter Kosminsky follows male and female British recruits as they struggle on their new paths. The four-hour film concludes Tuesday.
