"What on Earth?" returns with new head-scratching satellite images, including some that show Hurricane Matthew carrying thousands of animals across the Atlantic Ocean and others that suggest that mounds in the wilds of Transylvania might be connected to Dracula.

Not so happy together
While Julia Louis-Dreyfus racks up more awards, Jason Alexander continues trying to find a place in the post-"Seinfeld" world. "Hit the Road" isn't the answer. Alexander plays the patriarch of a family band that makes the Partridge Family seem like the Beatles. Neither the music nor the squeamish backstage humor really resonates.

"Loudermilk" gets nearly everything wrong about substance-abuse recovery, but creators Peter Farrelly ("There's Something About Mary") and Bobby Mort ("The Colbert Report") are right on target when it comes to creating addictive comedy. Ron Livingston is terrific as a music journalist turned counselor who makes Larry David look like a teddy bear. It's one of fall's best new offerings, even if it won't get the Hazelden seal of approval.
