Isn't it romantic?

"Love in the Animal Kingdom" (7 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2), a new edition of "Nature," examines whether or not beasts can truly feel love for each other without the use of Hallmark cards. Polar bears, mountain gorillas and flamingos are among the would-be romantics.

Strange bedfellows

Like most good awards shows, "The 47th Annual CMA Awards" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5) is less about handing out hardware and more about entertainment. Among the biggest draws this time out: Taylor Swift teaming up with both Vince Gill and Alison Krauss and the Zac Brown Band jamming with the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.

Muscle man

If you're a sucker for tough-guy flicks, you'll be happy to know that TCM's artist of the month is Burt Lancaster. The weekly tribute kicks off with 1946's "The Killers" (7 p.m., TCM) and continues with "Come Back, Little Sheba" (9 p.m.), "From Here to Eternity" (10:45 p.m.) and "The Swimmer" (1 a.m.).
