Good ol' boy

Jimmy Stewart, whose on-screen likability is matched only by Tom Hanks, is being honored all month on TCM with an irresistible lineup of classics every Wednesday evening. This week's love fest starts with two Alfred Hitchcock thrillers — "Rope" and "Vertigo" — followed by "Anatomy of a Murder," in which the actor uses his folksy nature for more harm than good.

Who you gonna call?

"Mythbusters" has a new station and new hosts. The series, which ran on Discovery Channel for 14 seasons, moves to Science Channel with production designer Jonathan Lung and pilot Brian Louden doing the sleuthing. The pair got the gig by winning a reality series, "Mythbusters: The Search," which will soon be the way we all get our next jobs.

Rocket man

PBS viewers have already heard astronaut Scott Kelley talk about his 12-month mission on the International Space Station in "A Year in Space." The sequel "Beyond a Year in Space" picks up when Kelley splashes down and introduces the next wave of explorers eager to escape Earth. My guess is that they're just trying to avoid spending time with their in-laws.

8 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2
