A long-awaited debut
Hard to believe, but Dave Chappelle has never hosted "Saturday Night Live." That all changes this weekend when the unpredictable comedian takes over with musical guest A Tribe Called Quest. Don't be surprised if Chappelle resurrects his Prince impression with free pancakes for everyone.

"Shooter," the 2007 film that helped establish Mark Wahlberg as a box-office powerhouse, is worth a second look, if only because it has inspired a TV series that debuts Tuesday, with Ryan Phillippe doing a fine job stepping in as a framed assassin. The series premiere has been delayed twice because of mass shootings; real-world reverberations still stand to spoil the adrenaline rush of both the movie and drama for certain viewers.

Thanksgiving celebrates the bonding between settlers and American Indians, a moment that would eventually be wiped out by betrayal and violence. Before you pick out your holiday turkey, check out "The Past Is Always With Us: The U.S.-Dakota Conflict," a 2013 documentary that doesn't hold back on revisiting an ugly but significant chapter in the history of Minnesota and the nation.
