Remember the time
Any objections Paris Jackson had to past biopics about her father will most likely be quelled by "Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland," a highly sympathetic take on the King of Pop's final months, seen through the eyes of his loyal bodyguards. Navi, a world-renowned impersonator, certainly looks the part, but the movie would have been just as well off animating a wax figure from Madame Tussauds.

Parting is such sweet sorrow
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes deserves props for trying to serve her loyalists a take on "Romeo and Juliet," but when your main characters — spoiler alert! — croak before the first episode of "Still Star-Crossed" is over, you've got trouble. Wooden dialogue and bloodlines that would give Henry Louis Gates Jr. a migraine don't help.

Stepping out
Jennifer Lopez's quest to lap Judge Judy continues with her role as producer and panelist on "World of Dance," yet another modern take on an old-fashioned talent show. The participants, who range in age and style, are all impressive, which means the emphasis is on spectacle rather than sarcasm. Derek Hough, Ne-Yo and Jenna Dewan Tatum round out the team of celebrity cheerleaders.
