Knight errant

"The Catch" probably wouldn't have returned for a second season if it wasn't produced by Shonda Rhimes. The savvy boss is taking full advantage of the opportunity, retooling the series as more of a caper comedy. Minnesotans have an additional reason to tune in: Our own T.R. Knight, largely absent from series TV since leaving Rhimes' "Grey's Anatomy," joins a cast that includes Alexandria native Peter Krause.

Lipstick jungle

"Kicking and Screaming" offers a new twist on the "Survivor" model by teaming wilderness veterans with pampered divas, including former "Baywatch" lifeguard Angelica Bridges and fashion student Maxwell Carr. The early tests are not very exciting, but this is a clever concept that could grow on you. As host, "New Girl" secret weapon Hannah Simone slips in a few amiable quips.

Basic chemistry

Bill Nye may disagree, but the smartest, most likely TV show to turn kids on to science is "Annedroids," in which junior lab rats create their own kid-friendly versions of robotic Frankenstein monsters. The cast, particularly lead Addison Holley, appears to be having a blast. Last season, the live-action series got 10 Emmy nominations, tying it with "Sesame Street."
