Oz in Africa

"Zoo" is the 97th book by the hyper-prolific James Patterson. It's being adapted into a TV series, which premieres this week. An American expat with an incredible name, Jackson Oz is a safari guide in Africa who fears that his late father's controversial theory is becoming true: Animals pose a threat to the human race. 7 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4

His aim is true

Given the length, breadth and depth of his extraordinary career, music hero Elvis Costello certainly deserves more than one hour of attention. But the documentary "Elvis Costello: Mystery Dance" is a good primer. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer reflects on his life, career, process and influences, admitting he's stolen from everyone from Frank Sinatra to Joni Mitchell. Paul McCartney, Nick Lowe and Allen Toussaint weigh in on what it's like to work with Costello. 8 p.m. Showtime 2
