Rockin' the boat

"Guys and Dolls" won't hit the Guthrie stage until next summer, but fans of the 1955 film version are in luck. As a singer, Marlon Brando may not be in co-star Frank Sinatra's league, but his version of "Luck Be a Lady" is a great movie moment.

Familiar formula

Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian are the latest mismatched team to solve mysteries in the breezy, totally unoriginal "Take Two." She's an actress studying for a role; he's a hardened private detective who doesn't have time for ... well, you get the picture. Fans of "Castle" may enjoy the antics; everyone else will roll their eyes.

Don't forget the Motor City

Detroit's renaissance was supposed to include a healthy amount of TV production, a plan that fizzled after a botched tax-incentive strategy. But hometown heroes Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson forged ahead, filming their charming sitcom "Detroiters" all over the metro area — and recruiting big names with a soft spot for Motown. In Season 2, city native Tim Meadows pops by, as does University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh.
