New woman in town

Enjoy the soap of "Mistresses" in the Season 3 premiere. Joss and Harry are cuddling on the beach when Karen phones with some bad news and Joss quickly runs to Scott. The results of Karen's blood tests are going to have a big impact. Actress Alyssa Milano, who played Savannah, left the series at the end of last season because the show is now filming in Vancouver. So we're introduced to a new character: Calista, a strong-willed creative director of a high-end fashion line, portrayed by Jennifer Esposito. 8 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5

Blazing Brooks

Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" is a 1974 satire of westerns beloved by baby boomers. The film probably wouldn't get made today because it revels in political uncorrectness. Co-written by Richard Pryor and others, it's filled with jokes about race, sex and farts. The movie features Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, Madeline Kahn, Dom DeLuise and, of course, Brooks. 7 p.m. Encore
