Minnesotan in the mix
To be honest, most of the contestants on the new season of "The Bachelor" seem alike to me, but I'll be keeping a special eye out on Whitney Fransway, who made last week's initial cut. Not only does the Pilates instructor/model hail from Chanhassen, but she also used to date Brody Jenner. Sounds like a genuine contender for the heart of Nick Viall — even if I have trouble telling her apart from her roomies.

Small talk
If the conversation on "The Bachelor" is a little too, um, heavy for you, ease on down to "Vanderpump Rules," where young socialites try to understand the nuances of a clambake and seek vengeance on sworn enemies by unfollowing them on social media. This episode, in which brains take an even more laid-back vacation, is being spun off into its own series, "Summer House," debuting next Monday.

Idol worship
For those who worry that celebrities don't get their egos stroked enough: "Big Fan" is a new game show in which contestants show off their knowledge about their idols while he or she beams with either a) genuine pride b) humble pride. Matthew McConaughey and Aaron Rodgers are the first to take the "hot seats."
