Royal wedding

There's little chance that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will watch "Royal New Year's Eve" — their real-life courtship trumps any storybook romance the Hallmark Channel could concoct. But mere mortals will get swept up in this lighthearted movie about a prince and a magazine assistant making goo-goo eyes at each other, especially since it features an appearance from former "Angel" Cheryl Ladd.

Bad reputation

If your New Year's resolution is to finally watch all of "Breaking Bad," AMC is screening every episode in chronological order on weekends throughout January. Getting to the finish line may be a daunting task, but it's well worth the effort thanks to a performance for the ages by Bryan Cranston.

Starts 1 p.m. Sunday, AMC

Dave's world

Netflix shelling out $20 million for each Dave Chappelle concert might seem outrageous, but then again, so were the first two stand-up specials that came from the deal. The sweet relationship continues with two new offerings: "Equanimity" and "The Bird Revelation." If that's not enough, Comedy Central will feature an all-day marathon of "Chappelle's Show" on New Year's Day, starting at 8 a.m.
