Back in June, I recommended the Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs documentary “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story,” which really hits its rhythm when the tycoon lets down his bravado and reflects on the rapper wars that led to the death of several prominent artists. At the time, it was only available on Apple Music. Now it’s getting a prime-time broadcast spot.

Coming up aces

Former Twins star Tony Oliva presents the Lifetime Achievement Award to Rod Carew during the inaugural edition of “The Minnesota Sports Awards,” taped earlier this month at Target Center. While there are plenty of big names on hand, including co-host Ahmad Rashad, the ceremonies focused just as much on unsung figures, such as Farmington High School’s Maddie Muelken, who pitched some standout softball games this year despite dealing with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
