Something wild

A film starring Jessica Lange, Shirley MacLaine and Demi Moore should have been headed for a big-screen release, but something happened to "Wild Oats" on its way to the cinema. Mr. Perry goes to Washington

Tyler Perry, who seems to churn out product much as Hormel manufactures Spam, is behind "Too Close to Home," TLC's first scripted series. The eight-part drama, which uses Washington, D.C., as the hub for political intrigue, features guest appearances from Heather Locklear and Matt Battaglia. No word on whether or not Madea will grace the Senate floor.

He's with her

"Jimmy Kimmel Live," which skipped the political conventions to focus on more pressing matters, like crowning a new belly-flop champ, has landed Hillary Clinton for her first late-night appearance since securing the Democratic nomination. Bonus points to Kimmel if he can convince his guest to read some "Mean Tweets."
