Rolling in the aisles Before Sue Sylvester terrorized the students on "Glee," Jane Lynch played a very different but equally irresistible character on "Party Down" (9 p.m. Friday, Starz). She's back, to marry a fellow who's one cheeseburger away from a fatal heart attack, and to torture her replacement (Megan Mullally). Unfortunately, the wedding reception does not include a rendition of "Vogue."

Up on a roof Paul McCartney got some fresh air last year. Now it's Jay-Z's turn. The rapper's secret performance on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater, which occurred without a license Monday, will be shown on "The Late Show With David Letterman" (10:35 p.m. Friday, WCCO, Ch. 4). He's joined by Eminem, who also presents advice to kids through a special Top 10 list.

Angel in America Who's worthy of a rendition of "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel, a performance of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Eric Idle, a monologue from Robin Williams and the mere presence of Jack Nicholson? Try Mike Nichols, who's the honoree for the "38th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala" (8 p.m. Saturday, TV Land), which also features Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine.

Motor City limits There are two reasons to watch the second-season premiere of "Hung" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO), which chronicles the further adventures of an All-American gigolo (Thomas Jane). One is the setting -- Detroit, a brilliant move since it's a city with a desperate need for Viagra. The other is Jane Adams, who plays his emotionally fragile pimp, a performance that deserves an Emmy nomination -- and a year's supply of Valium.
