Sunday

Followers of the "MDA Labor Day Telethon" (5 p.m., WGN America; 6 p.m., KSTC, Ch. 45) will get some sleep this year as the muscular-dystrophy fundraiser cuts back to seven hours. Word is that longtime host Jerry Lewis did not get an invite, but don't be surprised if the unpredictable comic digs up his old Catskills waiter uniform and crashes the party.

Monday

The second-season premiere of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" (8 p.m., Bravo) comes with some complications after the suicide of "house hubby" Russell Armstrong. The network has apparently shot some new material as recently as last week and has promised to be respectful. Gee, why start now?

Tuesday

Writer Kurt Sutter isn't shy about expressing his anger that Katey Sagal didn't get an Emmy nomination this year. Part of his ire has to do with the fact that she's his wife. The other reason: She richly deserved it. See why in the season premiere of Sutter's "Sons of Anarchy" (9 p.m., FX), which also stars University of Minnesota alum Ron Perlman.

Wednesday

In the new episode of "Roseanne's Nuts" (8 p.m., Lifetime), the comic goes camping with the family and finds time to scold her adult daughter, Jenny, for smoking. Jenny then reminds her about the episode of "Roseanne" in which they smoked weed in the bathroom. End of discussion.

Thursday

"Futurama" (9 p.m., Comedy Central) ends its season with a special episode featuring Stephen Hawking and three animation styles: classic black-and-white, 1980s old-school video game and Japanese anime. I'm disappointed that Claymation didn't make the cut.
