Sunday

There are many ways to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 this weekend, but one choice sticks out: "The Space Between" (8 p.m., USA), with a top-notch performance from Melissa Leo as a flight attendant who befriends a 10-year Pakistani-American boy who may or may not have lost his father in the World Trade Center. Leo, who recently won an Oscar for her work in "The Fighter," may want to make room on her mantel for more awards.

Monday

"The 60th Annual Miss Universe Pageant" (8 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) -- not to be confused with the Miss World Pageant -- picks Sao Paulo, Brazil, as the place to crown the next queen of the galaxy. Personally, we're rooting for Miss Mercury.

Tuesday

Twin Cities area residents must have awful toilets. That's our best theory in light of the fact that the new series "I Hate My Bath" (9:30 p.m., DIY) is all about upgrading lavatories in the Minneapolis area. Host Jeff Devlin is the man with a plan -- and, hopefully, a good plunger.

Wednesday

What's the worst new show of the season? According to the reaction at the summer TV critics press tour, it's "H8R" (7 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23), a Mario Lopez-hosted fiasco in which poor, poor celebrities like Snooki try to win over someone who despises them. The only way I'll give this show another chance is if Lopez can lure his old "Saved by the Bell" classmate Screech into the mix.

Thursday

The naughtiest, nastiest sitcom of them all, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (9 p.m., FX), returns with Frank (Danny DeVito) declaring his love for a foul-mouthed, drug-popping hooker. "Pretty Woman," it ain't. Upcoming adventures: a trip to the Jersey Shore, a beauty pageant for toddlers and an IRS audit.
