Sunday Prime wedding season is still many months away, but it's never too early to start preparing. "My Fair Wedding With David Tutera" (8 p.m., WE) returns for its fourth season of helpful advice and impossible tasks. Tutera is lauded as an event planner because he handles celebrity marriages -- and we all know how well those usually turn out.

Monday "Robert E. Lee" (8 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), the latest installment of PBS's "American Experience," is an eye-opening biography of a soldier who could have led the North or South in the Civil War. His first commander said he was such an impressive warrior that, in the event of a war, the first thing the government should do is take out a life insurance policy on him. This is a fascinating account of one of our most gifted military men, whose career ended in tragedy.

Tuesday Putting Paula Abdul front and center in a reality show is a little like turning over the Mayberry Police Department to Barney Fife. It can't lead to good things. The potential for a train wreck is, of course, the main draw of "Live to Dance" (7 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4), a new competition in which 18 dance acts vie for $500,000. Abdul's unpredictable behavior promises to be more riveting than the actual performances.

Wednesday "The People's Choice Awards" (8 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4) are not terribly interested in celebrating the best work of the year. They just want to fill the seats with celebrities. Just look at this year's roster for favorite actress: Angelina Jolie ("The Tourist"), Jennifer Aniston ("The Bounty Hunter"), Julia Roberts ("Eat Pray Love"), Kristen Stewart ("Welcome to the Rileys") and Katherine Heigl (too many 2010 bombs to count). Queen Latifah -- the Billy Crystal of the People's Choice -- returns as host.

Thursday Torturing people during the summer months apparently wasn't enough for ABC. The network is semi-proud to present a winter edition of "Wipeout" (7 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5), where the Obstacle Course From Hell now includes a spinning ski lift and a snowplow sweeper. What ever happened to a good ol'-fashioned snowball fight?
