The never-ending war

"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (7 p.m. Friday, Cartoon) kicks off its fourth season, leaving us hope that C-3PO and R2-D2 will finally come out of the closet. Also, prepare to be haunted by an old villian you may have left for dead.

By George!

Kudos to NBC for airing "2011 ALMA Awards" (7 p.m. Friday, KARE, Ch. 11), which recognizes outstanding achievements in Latino media arts -- and shame for only providing an hour of coverage. That's almost as long as co-host George Lopez's talk show lasted.

Rise or fall of the Empire

Jane Lynch puts on her finest track suit to host "The 63rd Annual Emmy Awards" (7 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9). The race between "Mad Men" and "Boardwalk Empire" should provide most of the fireworks, although don't be surprised if there's a scuffle over at the "Modern Family" seats if Eric Stonestreet wins for the second time in a row.

Raising Kane

"All My Children" wraps up its 41-year run next Friday, a historic moment inspiring two marathons of classic episodes. "I Love Lucci" (6 p.m. Saturday, Soap) highlights Erica Kane's most manic moments, including the time she accepted "Media Woman of the Year" award while high on pills, and "All My Children: Last Chance for Romance" (4 p.m. Sunday, Soap) puts the spotlight on beloved couples.
