Lost in space There's good and bad news for Minneapolis native Erik Jensen, pictured. The good stuff: He stars in "Virtuality" (7 p.m. today, KMSP, Ch. 9), a new movie about a 10-year-mission to save the Earth, created by the folks behind "Battlestar Galactica" and directed by Macalester grad Peter Berg. The downside: The idea was originally supposed to be a series. Only out-of-this-world ratings will give this outing a longer life. Jensen and company might want to speed up the rescue time.

Who are you The only thing nerdier than a Trekkie is a fan of "Dr. Who" (8 p.m. Saturday, BBC America). Those proud followers will be particularly geeked up by the latest installment in which David Tennant's version of the Doc meets David Morrissey's version of the Doc. Space -- and sci-fi conventions -- will never be the same again.

Drink it up John Lithgow, pictured, has an eccentric résumé, as well as an eccentric taste in movies. He is TCM's guest curator this summer, selecting films he thinks would be perfect for kids to watch with their parents. This weekend's selection, 1940's "The Philadelphia Story" (7 p.m. Sunday, TCM), is indeed family-friendly, with the possible exception of James Stewart's drunk scene. Just tell the young ones that he had too much hot chocolate.

What makes a man If you thought Mark Wahlberg showed off some, um, talent in "Boogie Nights," wait until you see Thomas Jane's gift in the new series "Hung" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO). Yep, the title refers to exactly what you think it does, you naughty, naughty readers, as Jane's character tries to make it in the male escort business. The behind-the-scenes credit is equally impressive. Dmitry Lipkin, creator of "The Riches," wrote the show with his wife, Colette Burson, and Oscar winner Alexander Payne directed the pilot.
