Sunday In "Merlin" (7 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11), Camelot seems like a prep school straight out of "Gossip Girl" and Arthur (Bradley James) is King of the Preppies. That means our intrepid teenage wizard (Colin Morgan) must build up his master's power while taking him down a few pegs. The only thing missing is a fire-breathing dragon named Tiffani.

Monday The cutthroat world of girls' gymnastics is front and center in "Make It or Break It" (8 p.m., ABC Family), a series about a newcomer who tries to prove that nobody rocks the pommel horse like she can. The new program is preceded by the second-season premiere of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" (7 p.m., ABC Family), which finds our heroine adjusting to motherhood and the fact that she'll never, ever be part of the Olympics gymnastic team.

Tuesday Maybe "Gossip Girl" isn't so ridiculous after all. The new series "NYC Prep" (9 p.m., Bravo) offers ample proof that real-life rich teenagers can be just as snotty and superficial as their fictional counterparts. It's hard to root for any of the privileged Manhattanites featured in the pilot episode, but maybe one of them will do something in a future episode that we can relate to, like break out in hives.

Wednesday Emmy winners Tom Fontana and Peter Horton usually don't put their names on second-rate material, but their latest project, "The Philanthropist" (9 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11), proves that even the mighty make mistakes. James Purefoy, so commanding as Marc Antony in HBO's "Rome," smirks his way through the title role, a playboy who suddenly sees the light and decides to put his money -- and his life -- on the line to save starving Africans. Neve Campbell is wasted as the playboy's worrywart wife.

Thursday The tantalizing late-night wars have a particularly strong battle tonight as Bruno goes up against beauty. Sacha Baron Cohen's character flies by "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" (10:35 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) while "The Late Show With David Letterman" (10:35 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4) welcomes the perfectly chiseled pair of Johnny Depp and Megan Fox.
