Boys' hockey

Hill-Murray 4, Elk River 2: Jake Begley stopped 25 of 27 shots to lead the Class 2A, No. 4 Pioneers past the No. 3 Elks. Brock Bremer started the scoring for the Pioneers in the first period, before Jax Murray and Tommy Laabs gave the Elks a brief 2-1 lead midway through the second. Minutes later, Joseph Quast and Anthony Betti scored to put the Pioneers ahead 3-2. Kyler Yeo added to the lead with a goal 32 seconds into the third period.

St. Paul Johnson 3, Minnehaha Academy 2 (OT): Justin Evenson made 42 saves, including 11 in overtime, to lead the Class 1A, No. 14 Governors past the No. 12 Redhawks. Luke Heffernan scored the game-winner, assisted by Luke and Isaac Moberg. Alex Campbell and A.J. Austin also scored for the Governors. Eli Smith and Alex Evenson scored for the Redhawks.

Cretin-Derham Hall 3, White Bear Lake 2: Joseph Gimberlin scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner in the third period, to lead the visiting Raiders past the Bears, ranked No. 13 in Class 2A. Matt Gleason also scored for the Raiders. Connor Bjornberg and Brock Larson scored for the Bears.

Girls' hockey

Elk River/Zimmerman 4, Centennial 3: Megan Jung's 35 saves led Class 2A, No. 5 Elks past the No. 8 Cougars. Shae-Elle McLean and Kennedi Mitchell gave Elk River an early two-goal lead, before Emma Olson put the Cougars on the board in the second period. Goals by Kelsey King and McLean, her second of the night, extended the lead 4-1, before the Cougars made a late comeback on goals by Anneke Linser and Hailee Berg.

Hutchinson 3, Delano/Rockford 2 (OT): The Tigers scored three unanswered goals, including Ainslea Jensen's game-winner in overtime, to upset Class 1A, No. 6 Delano/Rockford. Hannah Tormanen and Emily Olson gave Delano/Rockford an early 2-0 lead, before Emma Berthiaume scored back-to-back goals for Hutchinson. Jensen scored the winner 5:18 into overtime. Hutchinson's Emma Barrick-Benson finished with 27 saves.

Minnetonka 2, Hopkins/St. Louis Park 0: Elizabeth Kubicek stopped 25 shots for the shutout as the Class 2A, No. 10 Skippers defeated the No. 16 Royals on the road. Taylor Johnson and Kailey Langefels scored for the Skippers.

Lakeville South 3, Prior Lake 1: Halle Gill scored two goals to lead the Class 2A, No. 9 Cougars past the host Lakers. Teammate Emily Fischler had a goal and an assist. Claire Hagen scored the lone goal for the Lakers, assisted by Kate and Charlotte Huntington.

Cretin-Derham Hall 3, Park 1: Olivia Garrity scored twice and Erin Meyers added another as the Class 2A, No. 7 Raiders defeated the host Wolfpack. Tina Press scored the goal for the Wolfpack.

Boys' basketball

Champlin Park 85, Park Center 75: The Rebels, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, used a strong first half to defeat the visiting Pirates and remain undefeated at 13-0. Brian Smith led all scorers with 25 points. Teammates McKinley Wright and Theo John added 23 and 16, respectively. Dain Dainja led the Pirates with 18, while Derrick Ogechi and Jarius Cook scored 12 apiece.

Armstrong 73, Blaine 67: Race Thompson scored 20 and Gabriel Hostetler added 19 to lead the Falcons past the visiting Bengals. Sam Gerrety scored 17 points for the Bengals, Kurtis Weigand added 14.

Delano 86, Holy Family 57: With a slim 46-42 lead at halftime, the Class 3A, No. 2 Tigers shut down the host Fire after the break by allowing only 15 points. The Tigers' Calvin Wishart led all scorers with 23 points. Teammates Mitchell Kurtz and Nick Cayler added 16 apiece. The Fire were led by Lincoln Cizek with 13 points.

Lakeville North 72, Burnsville 62: Nathan Reuvers scored 32 points to lead the Class 4A, No. 3 Panthers past the visiting Blaze. Teammates Tyler Wahl and Ethan Igbanugo added 12 and 10, respectively. Jackson Martens led the Blaze with 21 points, and Abdijabbar Mursal added 10.

Girls' basketball

Apple Valley 77, Eagan 40: Lyndsey Robson scored 22 points to surpass 2,000 points in her career as the Class 4A, No. 4 Eagles defeated the visiting Wildcats. Teammates Brynne Rolland and Sara Teske added 16 and 11, respectively. Carly Czaplewski and Lauren Slawin scored 10 apiece for the Wildcats.

Park Center 69, Champlin Park 56: Leading 34-33 at halftime, the Class 4A, No. 9 Pirates used a stout second-half defense to shut down the visiting Rebels. Danielle Schaub and Ann Simonet led the Pirates with 16 points apiece. Teammates Sommer Blakemore and Mikayla Hayes each added 12. Erica Hicks led the Rebels with 21, and Makayla Johnson added 13.

Mahtomedi 53, Hastings 46: Emma Grothaus scored 24 points and Marisa Gustafson added 12 to lead the Class 3A, No. 7 Zephyrs past the host Raiders. The Zephyrs scored 32 of their points after halftime. The Raiders were led by Mallory Brake with 21 and Krystal Carlson with 18.

Lakeville North 66, Burnsville 46: Taylor Brown scored 18 points and Ke James added 17 as the Class 4A, No. 5 Panthers ran past the host Blaze. Teammates Temi Carda and Caitlyn Peterson scored 11 points apiece. Emma Fee and Dakota Cox led the Blaze with 17 and 12 points, respectively.
