Minnehaha Academy moved one step closer to its fourth consecutive appearance in the girls' basketball state tournament with a 58-40 victory over St. Agnes in the Class 2A, Section 4 semifinals Tuesday.

The Redhawks, who have reached the state tournament eight times in the past nine years, will play St. Croix Lutheran for the section championship Friday at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

St. Croix Lutheran defeated Concordia Academy 51-46 in the other semifinal. Freshman guard Mia Curtis led the Redhawks (24-4) with 15 points.

Boys' basketball

Eastview 89, Park of Cottage Grove 63: Jameson Bryan scored 32 points and Mason Carpenter 21 to fuel the Lightning's Class 4A, Section 3 quarterfinal victory. Eastview, the second seed, will play Rosemount in the section semifinals Friday.

Rosemount 70, Hastings 40: The third-seeded Irish (14-13) built a 30-13 halftime lead en route to the Class 4A, Section 3 quarterfinal victory. Luke Loehr scored 23 points to pace the Irish.

Rogers 79, Brainerd 67: Junior forward Jordan Belka had 28 points and eight rebounds to lead the third-seeded Royals to the victory in the Class 4A, Section 8 quarterfinals. The Royals (23-4) will meet second-seeded St. Cloud Tech in the semifinals Saturday afternoon at St. Cloud State.

Big Lake 89, Dassel-Cokato 71: Senior guard Austin Miller had 34 points, six rebounds and nine assists to lead the Hornets past the Chargers in the Class 3A, Section 5 quarterfinals. The top-seeded Hornets (18-9) will play fourth-seeded Monticello on Saturday night at St. Cloud State.

St. Paul Highland Park 74, Holy Angels 71: The Scots rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit for the Class 3A, Section 3 quarterfinal victory. Dreem Kelly-Jabbar scored 23 points to lead the Scots (23-4).
