A State Patrol trooper suffered minor injuries after he crashed responding to accidents Saturday morning at the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis.
The trooper was westbound on Interstate 94 about 9 a.m. when he entered the tunnel, lost control of his squad car and hit a wall. Earlier, in the eastbound lane, a car had stalled near the tunnel, causing several other vehicles to hit it.
The trooper was examined by paramedics at the scene. The accidents backed up traffic for several hours, but all of the vehicles were cleared by late morning and traffic was back to normal.
