In retrospect, perhaps they should have combined it with "Xanadu," which was "Tron" for high school girls:

The main problem with Tron, if I remember it correctly: it's about a civilization that lives inside of computer chips and plays frisbee. The idea of self-aware creatures in a computer isn't rare, but at the time the move looked like nothing else - spare, dark, unreal. Looked like the video games of the day, but much better. This was amazing stuff in 1982:

If it's not tracking well in advance, it's because the target market - nerds - may be smaller than expected, or they fully expect to download it for free a day or two after it's released, or they've already downloaded it illegally, and they're all saying it's awesome! If they made another one I would totally consider paying for it. So make another one, okay? Sorry; the first one didn't make money, because you didn't go to the theater to see it. Serves you right, 'cause ticket prices are too high. And you wonder why people download moves, dude. Sigh.
